A child with special needs has special educational needs or a learning need which calls for special educational provision to be made for that child or some kind of provision which is extra or different from other children of his/her age in a mainstream school.
When you are told that your child has special needs, one of the challenges is finding out what is available to help your child and your family, what you and your child’s rights are and how do you access financial and educational supports.
Parents sometimes miss out on supports for their child and family because they do not know where to look, what to look for or do not have access to professionals who have the information. to help point them in the right direction. We at MOM have created this group to provide support for parents with children of such needs.
